Higgins & Schmidt Welcomes Laura Schmidt, CPA
As Director of Operations and Advanced Strategies

As part of our continued commitment to provide an elevated wealth management experience for
our clients, we are proud to announce the addition of Laura Schmidt, CPA, as Director of
Advanced Strategy and Operations. Laura, an active CPA, will oversee the operations and
compliance elements for our firm and expand our unique ability to address the evolving complex
needs of clients with higher levels of investable assets and diverse resources. Laura’s twelve
years of experience in technical accounting, audit, and strategic business consulting have
developed her skills as a results-oriented strategic problem solver. We believe that Laura’s
character and respect for people, combined with her technical abilities make her a natural fit for
our clients and our firm.
Originally from Kankakee, Illinois, Laura graduated from Saint Louis University. Laura lives in
the City Park neighborhood in Denver with her partner Caitlin and dog Maggie. Laura also
happens to be the sister of our own Allison Schmidt. Laura enjoys time outdoors, is an avid fan
of all things sports, and likes to find herself in new restaurants and breweries around town.
Throughout her career, Laura has valued the interpersonal interactions and developing
relationships as part of her job. Laura explains, “As sincerely thrilling as completing a complex
Excel formula is for an accountant, I always hoped to find a role that would be equally thrilling
on the human side as well.” As Allie’s sister, Laura has had a front-row seat witnessing the
growth and evolution of Higgins & Schmidt. Laura shared, “When Allie and Steve approached
me about this opportunity, I jumped at the chance to put people at the forefront of my day. I’ve
seen the fulfillment that Allie gets from working with this amazing group of people, and I’m
thrilled to join the team.”

exceptional experience. The addition of Laura marks the next chapter in the Higgins & Schmidt
